The Action Rays
The Movement operates in eight interrelated and complementary internal and external service areas. A spiritual activist is expected to align with these fundamental principles and offer their services to one or more areas of action.
The first three areas are essential preparation for all individuals. The fourth area is the fundamental requirement for the remaining externalizations. The change we all desire starts with an individual’s consciousness and spreads to progressively larger communities until it encompasses the entire planet. Self-knowledge is our common starting point, and Eutopia is the fulfillment of our vision.
First Ray - Self-Knowledge
We change ourselves while also striving to improve conditions on the planet. Without raising our consciousness, external change is not possible. We aim to cultivate a critical mass of conscious citizens instead of an easily manipulated, outraged crowd. Anyone who fights beyond narrow party lines is not "apolitical" but truly politically aware and open-minded. We counteract the mechanism of fear that hinders logical thinking and establish alternative channels of information, direct communication, and local organization.
Second Ray – Wake Up Education
Inner cultivation (humanistic education) and social activism can and should go hand in hand. For this reason, we organize special seminars and educational courses to deepen applied philosophy. A renewed immersion in the wisdom of eternal principles is essential for overcoming spiritual and moral bankruptcy.
Third Ray - Change of Worldview and Practice
Moving from a focus on "having" to "being" and from "I" to "we," the aim is to replace competitive consumerism with naturalness, simplicity, aesthetics, humanism, solidarity, spiritual cultivation, and poetry. LIGHT IN ACTION seeks to contribute to the development of a new life model that is fairer, peaceful, and sustainable.
Fourth Ray - Responsibility & Participation
A key point in its philosophy is the assumption of personal and collective responsibility. LIGHT IN ACTION catalyzes inner awakening and the organization of voluntary social participation. The era of "saviors" and "charismatic leaders" is over! The everyday person is called to become their hero; together, we will create a new humanity.
Fifth Ray – Spiritual and Cultural Awakening
Social change can only occur by incorporating cultural awakening and renewal. Globalization has vastly homogenized the cultures of nations and imposed its influences. Instead of promoting quality education in multiculturalism and fostering equitable communication among peoples, the technology of information and spectacle has extended the influence of the American way of life to millions of passive imitators.
Sixth Ray – Direct Democracy, Active Nonviolence
At the political level, we are activating the peaceful change of the political system by advocating for direct democracy so that the ability to self-determinate is returned to the citizen. People can coexist peacefully and support each other to uproot every source of misery and pain. We believe that fair goals cannot be achieved through unfair means. When we resort to violence, we are playing the system's game. The only thing the establishment does not know how to handle is nonviolence and humor. We experience activism with joy, imagination, creativity, and a cheerful spirit. Active nonviolence is a way of life and a method for achieving positive individual and social change. We organize seminars on civil disobedience and training in active nonviolence.
Seventh Ray – Social Ecosophy
Restoring the balance between humanity and nature is also a core goal for us. We recognize the critical urgency of the multifaceted environmental problems facing our common home, planet Earth, today, and we are activated to preserve it.
Eighth Ray – The Realization of Eutopia
The search for a social Eutopia is the last stronghold against the "dictatorship of reality." We may not realize it immediately, but ultimately, we live lives that correspond to our ideas and beliefs. It is futile to always look to others for the cause of our unhappiness and the dire global situation. "We are the world," as Krishnamurti often reiterated! How we see the world is like a map with which we navigate the terrain of life and plan for the future. If the map is true and accurate, we will know where we are, and if we have decided where we want to go, we will generally know how to get there. If the map is wrong and flawed, the result is that we may get lost.
