Wake Up Theater

Wake Up Theater is the theatrical group of the Spiritual Activism Movement “LIGHT IN ACTION”, inspired and founded by Psychiatrist-Psychotherapist, Spiritual Activist, and Founder of the Movement, Mr. Giannis Avgoustatos. The group proposes an alternative and utopian way of perception for humans and society. Operating as a Self-Knowledge Group, it is called “Alchemical”, as each member is called to perform inner work, purifying their psychic “metals” and transforming them into spiritual ones through psychotherapeutic methods and meditation.

The mission of Wake Up Theater is to offer a new language of understanding the world, expressing the ineffable and the transcendent. Art departs from the imitation of human passions and aims at spiritual purification, inspiring the soul and promoting true life. Through this spiritual journey, art is called upon to reveal the light of goodness, guiding humans beyond the limited perceptions of senses and instincts.

The group includes both amateur and professional actors, as well as artists from other forms of art. Actor training focuses on Acting, Improvisation, Music, and Self-Knowledge lessons, cultivating both technical and spiritual skills required for participation in the group. Additionally, members participate in group sessions of drama therapy, enhancing the process of personal development and psychological integration.

This initiative began in 2018 and continues to this day, having presented numerous small and large performances in Athens with an impressive audience response.
